Command Centre Infrastructure

Security & safety

Class leading security systems are employed, led by Biometric readers and proximity cards. Man-trap doors with interlocking capabilities control access to the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Data Centre. Early fire detection and environmentally friendly FM200 fire suppression systems are installed throughout.

Physical access infrastructure

The facility offers completely redundant access infrastructure, starting with dual manhole access to metro fibre loops. Dual risers are installed leading to the data centre. Seamless access to the building rooftop is provided via dedicated, protected fibre trunks. Carriers are provided with dedicated fibre patch trays for increased security.

Power

AC and DC power friendly. Dual power feeds to each rack. Two power sources are fed via separate and discreet grid transformers, backed by UPS and Gensets in N+1 configuration

Cable care

A state-of-the-art overhead data cabling system allows for easy installation. Separate trays are dedicated for fibre, copper and coaxial cables. Power cable runs exclusively under floor. Pre-terminated cabling to racks as well as specially allocated power feeds from the main supply lines can be made available as required.

Regulated Temperature

The facility is equipped with down flow precision Air Conditioners, ensuring room temperature is within ± 2°C whilst maintaining humidity within ± 5%. Operating in N+1 configuration.

Grounding System

The facility boasts two earthing systems with resistance levels of below 0.5 ohm. A clean earth is dedicated to telecommunications equipment, leaving a separate earth to serve other types of equipment.

Facility Management System

The various environmental aspects of the facility including power, cooling, fire suppression and security are looked after by a central management system. The AIMS NOC monitors this system 24x7x365.
